“Stanley is going to kill Arliss today.
The special effects guys wire a bullet hit and a blood bag to his sternum. They shoot Arliss and we all watch the scene on the video playback machine. It is beautifully violent. Arliss is really pleased.
Seeing the shot in slow motion, we see things that we didn’t see in real time— the blood gushing and the dog tags slapping into Arliss’s face.”
